Happy Birthday, Mel Brooks!

June 28, 2012

Aurora

Today a comedy genius turns 86.  I can think of no one else who’s made me laugh more through the years – whether by way of silly gags or wonderful satire – than Mel Brooks.  To him, a great writer, comedian and national treasure, a simple tribute.

Happy birthday!

About Aurora

I've been a fan of motion pictures, of the classic variety, for as long as I can remember. I adore the classic stars, the system that made them and the wonderful stories that appeared on the silver screen. Writing about those great stories and sharing images of days long gone - of the great movie stars, American royalty - is a special joy. Thanks to all who may visit for indulging my classic film obsessions. THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT!

Seeti Maar- Literal meaning "Blow the Whistle". Movie goers in India, have the tendency to appreciate a scene or a dialogue or a song, by whistling and clapping aloud. The blog is dedicated to those movies, their makers, the actors, the music directors, who have often made me feel like doing the "seeti maar" act, or actually made me do it in theaters.
